The test, the score, and how the platform helps you improve — clear answers.

The TOEIC

What is the TOEIC test?
The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) measures your English level in a professional context. The most common one, the TOEIC Listening & Reading, assesses listening and reading comprehension through a 200-question multiple-choice test, scored from 10 to 990 points.
How is the TOEIC score calculated?
The test has two sections — Listening and Reading — each scored from 5 to 495 points, added together for a total out of 990. It is not a simple percentage of correct answers: each score maps to a conversion table.
Which CEFR level does my TOEIC score correspond to?
As a guide: about 550 points correspond to a B1 level, 785 to B2 and 945 to C1. The placement test gives you your estimated level directly.
How long is the TOEIC and how many questions are there?
The TOEIC Listening & Reading lasts about 2 hours: 100 listening comprehension questions (around 45 minutes) then 100 reading comprehension questions (75 minutes), with no break in between.
What are the 7 Parts of the TOEIC?
The Listening section includes Part 1 (photographs), Part 2 (question-response), Part 3 (conversations) and Part 4 (talks). The Reading section includes Part 5 (incomplete sentences), Part 6 (text completion) and Part 7 (reading comprehension).
How long is the TOEIC score valid?
The score is generally considered valid for 2 years. This is the period usually required by employers, schools and certification bodies.
What TOEIC score should I aim for?
It depends on your goal. A score of around 785 (B2 level) is a common benchmark for jobs in an international environment; many schools require between 750 and 850. The placement test helps you set a realistic target.

How does the placement test work?

Is the score estimate reliable?
It is an estimate calibrated against the TOEIC scale, not an official score. It locates your starting level and steers your practice toward what will help you progress the most.
What is the personalized study path?
Based on your placement and your goal, PrepTOEIC builds a training plan focused on your weak points, with exercises organized by Part and progress tracking.
What are streaks and progress tracking?
The streak counts your consecutive practice days to help you keep a steady rhythm. Your dashboard tracks how your estimated score and skills evolve over time.
Is the format faithful to the real exam?
Yes. We follow the official format: Parts 1 and 2 are done "blind" (with no text shown), the audio plays only once, and each section is timed like the exam.
