Study for the TOEIC in one month: a week-by-week plan

A realistic 4-week plan, about 30 min a day, to arrive ready and confident on test day.

One month is enough to improve significantly on the TOEIC — provided you study regularly rather than in bursts. Here is a 4-week plan.

Week 1 — Diagnosis and foundations

Take a full placement test to pinpoint your weaknesses. Then shore up the basics: the grammar structures of Part 5 and the most frequent business vocabulary (meetings, emails, HR).

Study 30 minutes a day rather than 3 hours on Sunday. Consistency anchors vocabulary and reflexes far better.

Week 2 — Listening

Focus on Parts 1 to 4. Listen to English every day (podcasts, videos) and train yourself to catch keywords. Work on American, British, Australian and Canadian accents — they all appear.

Week 3 — Reading and speed

Tackle Part 7 under timed conditions. The goal is no longer just to understand, but to understand fast. Note the questions that make you lose time.

Week 4 — Mock exams

Sit at least two full mock exams under real conditions (2 hours, no break). Analyse every mistake: was it a lack of knowledge, of time, or of attention?
