Text completion

What it assesses

Four short texts (emails, notices…) with 4 gaps each. On top of grammar and vocabulary, one question per text asks you to insert the right sentence.

Format and flow

4 texts × 4 questions. The context around the gap is essential — you can't answer in isolation.

Common traps

  • Answering without reading the full sentence and context;
  • The "sentence to insert" question (text coherence);
  • Verb tenses that depend on the rest of the text.

Strategy

  • Read the whole sentence, not just around the gap;
  • For the inserted sentence, check the logic before / after;
  • Keep an eye on tense consistency.
